Did you know? The Nigerian Constitution + rights and freedoms
The 1999 constitution restored democratic rule to Nigeria [yet again], and remains in force today.
The Nigerian ideal, as expressed is the Constitution, is really wonderful:
14.2(a) sovereignty belongs to the people
14.2(b) the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government:
17.1 The State social order is founded on ideals of Freedom, Equality and Justice.
for example. More rights here.
On the other hand, the reality is that too many are unsafe, poor, and even oppressed.
Furthermore, the document as drafted is not gender-neutral, it is not gender blind, it mentions marriage and 'woman', and uses 'he' when I presume it means me, you, and others who may not be male.
See Sections 26 - 29 for instance.
Citizenship can be gained by marrying a Nigerian male but not by marrying a Nigerian female? Why? I reject this asymmetry.
What do you love / dislike about the Constitution of Nigeria?

Yes, Prime Minister
Former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, is named Nigeria's Minister for Power, Works and Housing.
I just want to say, this is hope.
I think his appointment means we'll solve electricity (with enabling laws, with incorporating solar and sustainable off-grid modules; with a real answer, and we'll do it fast. )
I believe it means that there will magically appear a road and/or rail network throughout Nigeria that enables one nation to travel for work or leisure, that there will be adopted a system of maintenance for the same, and that we will forever remember Fashola of Nigeria.
I hope it means a fair home, land, and building system that enables individuals and groups to build wealth and enterprise in a stable and safe society.
I also want to say that, should the brotha need me, I would (even) move to Abuja to be part of this revolution.
Of course if he already has the people he needs, never mind. I'll be here campaigning for the split workday / split workweek.
(General idea: How sweet would life be if instead of 9-5, there were two daily six-hour shifts or two weekly three-day shifts? Everybody gains. Time, lifestyle, half the traffic, more commerce, longer business hours, better families, greater leisure, flexible time, ...)

The good in NYSC
Source "I remember being so mad when people used to say that “NYSC is a waste of
time”. Something in me simply refused to believe those lies and the
truth I held on to saw me scaling through the year touching lives and
hitting goals."
"I set out into different schools, speaking and counselling the young
ones, inviting speakers to steer them unto the right academic path,
inviting trainers to teach them basic skills, fielding questions on
relationships from confused young hearts…"
Her conclusion: "my one year in NYSC has taught me that we weren’t created to get all we can… we were created to give out of ourselves, of our talents, of our resources… we were created to pour out and finally die empty. And in pouring out, we find ourselves being refilled."

Kwara is Yorubaland?
Explain this South-West and North-West divide - is it about language and ethnicity or what? Or are the "geopolitical zones" merely developmental/representational regions based on needs or populations?
Isn't Ilorin a Yoruba town? What other languages are spoken in Kwara State? Do Kwarans consider themselves Yoruba?
Anyway, one Nigeria.

A healthy dose of pessimism
In Why I'm Not Proud To Call Buhari My President, Femi Aribisala discusses the flaws in the March/April 2015 elections especially that the distribution of voter cards / PVCs and PVC-accredited voters, and in the first place of census figures, is rigged.
He also discusses the limitations of the Buhari product that has been advertised as having answers to security problems and economic problems. Why has the incoming president not repented from, apologized for, his undemocratic past?
Essentially, a lot of ink has been spent on the bright side. If you want to think on the dark side of the 2015 elections and the victories of the APC party and presidential candidate, read the longish article.

Forget about PDP and APC and presidential candidates for a minute and listen...
The UBA story: some of us said well, you can't change the country politically, there is a military government in power...but Babangida has given opportunities; so why don't we take a large national institution and see what we can do about changing it and making it better...bringing all those people together was what I was proudest of. And it convinced me, that what I have always believed...you can bring people together from wherever and have them work together and forget their ethnic background;
On Electric Power:
There is a fundamental difference between telecoms and power, which makes power more complicated. [For power, we have gas supply, generation, transmission, and distribution all run differently] and for the whole system to succeed all four have to succeed.
