The capitulation of the Biafra, which as the former Eastern Region of Nigeria, seceded from the federation on May 30th 1967, came after numerous setbacks on the battlefield; the last of which was the overrunning of the provisional capital of Owerri.
Residents in the then Nigerian capital city of Lagos poured into the streets and huddled around transistor radios to hear Efiong's dramatic broadcast."

A year after her village was levelled by insurgents, Hepsata Adjit returned to make peace with her past. She had married Abiso Gambo, the bulama or village chief, two years before. Though she was only Gambo’s second wife, Adjit, then 20, was blissfully happy.
But then Boko Haram arrived.
The fallout from the eight-year Boko Haram insurgency is grave: more than 2.4 million people have fled their homes in Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon. Thousands are dead; thousands more have been raped, beaten and abducted.
When the militants arrived in Gashia Midek in late 2016, the entire village ran into the surrounding scrubby desert, hiding in clumps of trees. The village’s wealth, which had been built up over generations, seems impossible to get back.

to CAR aged 18 and worked in insurance and as a corporate lawyer. Was
active in a women's rights organisation,campaigning against female
genital mutilation. 2003 formally
entered politics and chaired a reconciliation process aimed at bringing
the country's different groups together. Said that the violence between
Christian and Muslim groups had its roots in poverty. 2012 became the mayor of Bangui. 2014 sworn in as interim president of CAR on 23 January. She is the first woman to hold the post.

Segun thinks "not yet." According to him, "Nigeria is a 'colonial container' with diverse but great contents whose harmony depends on the knowledge and understanding [that] Hunger, sorrow, poverty, joy, laughter, have no language or colour."
I live under the illusion that Nigeria is one because I fear civil war. If young musicians use multiple Nigerian languages, isn't that proof of our one-ness?
