Old Politicians, New Media and the very clever Trevor Noah
I'm getting hooked on The Daily Show (again! - but this time, online, from a distance.)
In this June 2016 episode, House Democrats Stage a Sit-In. No, really. A real protest (slash) slumber-party by US politicians over an issue very dear to the hearts of the American people.

Remember?
Nigeria Vision 2020 |
Remember this one? "The NV20:2020 economic transformation blueprint is a long term plan for stimulating Nigeria’s economic growth and launching the country onto a path of sustained and rapid socio-economic development. The blueprint articulates Nigeria’s economic growth and development strategies, for the eleven -year period between 2009 and 2020, and will be implemented using a series of medium term national development plans."
The Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning houses the above National Plan along with some tracking and scoring mechanisms.
Why then does it sometimes feel as though Nigeria is without a roadmap?

Is this Angola?
These Angolans were arrested one year ago after a book club meeting. It's been a year since the #Angola17 activists were arrested after a book club meeting #LiberdadeJa pic.twitter.com/Zo7XLLcXsy— pen_southafrica (@pen_southafrica) June 21, 2016
They remain in detention.
Here is the book, From Dictatorship to Democracy, by Gene Sharp.
I, like thousands (millions) of people, read this book many years ago.
You can too.
What else do you know about Angola? I know there's this very rich and pretty girl, the president's daughter or something, named Isabel dos Santos, and they speak Portuguese. Stunting
Globally,
50 million children under 5 were wasted of which 16 million were severely wasted - WHO One of every four children under five in the world today is stunted. |
All the wastin' and stuntin' ... no, we're not rapping about "substances" hehehe, we're talking about malnutrition:
"The first 1,000 days – from the time a woman becomes pregnant to the second birthday of her child – is the most important period of individual human development. This is the time when the foundation for good physical growth is set, when the brain is developing most rapidly, when the immune system is strengthening. What happens in those 1,000 days determines to a large extent the course of a child’s life — his or her ability to grow, learn, work, succeed – and, by extension, the long-term health, stability and prosperity of the society in which that child lives."

answer:
Here is some history.
Who remembers this campaign ad for SDP and MKO Abiola?

It is patriotic and an act of social responsibility to bash the performance of Buhari as president.
Onoja is fantastically unimpressed and writes: AN APPRAISAL OF THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA’S FIRST YEAR IN OFFICE.
I recommend his article.

Serious!
How Buhari ruined Nigeria in 365 days (CLICK) is funny-sad.
You have to see it for yourself.
You have to think about it and pray about it, because, well, it is an opportunity to change.
There's also BuhariWasted365Days and Buhari365Days.#DemocracyDay I got this cartoon from a friend and it looked very funny really #Buhari365Days in office pic.twitter.com/gTYv900EJZ— Ahmad N. Ibraheem (@Angaskee) May 29, 2016
We are judging #Buhari365Days based on the promises he made. They (APC) set the standards and not us.— Beta Pikin (@betadey9ja) May 29, 2016
