As we wind-down the year, the month of November has been a fully packed one at W.TEC with a host of impactful programmes. Starting today is our 16 Days of Activism against violence against women, this runs while we gear up for our major fund raising campaign of 2020 tagged Giving-Tuesday, during which we shall be looking forward to your kind support towards our STEM - education programmes for girls in 2021.
W.TEC 2020 - 16 Days Of Activism Campaign
Once again we are joining the annual ''16 Days of Activism'' global campaign, aimed at creating sustained awareness against violence against women and girls. This year we will be embarking on a robust online-campaign:
*To help women and girls surf the internet more safely 
*Highlight unique cyber-threats faced by ladies during lockdown 
*Raise awareness against recent sexual violations of little girls.

W.TEC has some big news for you! As the season of giving approaches we are are glad to announce that we will be participating in the global day of giving  –  Giving Tuesday  to accept donations towards our 2021 STEM education programmes for girls.

Pfizer and BIONTECH recently announced that their COVID19 vaccine prove to be over 90% effective. Both outfits have now announced that they have submitted an application to the US FDA for an emergency use authorization request on Friday December 20th.

Nigerian Police launches cybercrime Reporting Portal

The Nigerian Police Force has launched a cybercrime reporting portal to advance its crackdown on internet fraud. Force spokesperson, Frank Mba, announced on Thursday, November 19, 2020 that members of the public can make reports against fraudsters.

2020 NITDA Special Intervention Training for Graduates Unemployed Nigerians 

NITDA seeks to apply effective and sustainable solutions to build capacity and develop skills of Nigerians in emerging IT sectors and drastically reduce the unemployment rate in the IT Sector by bridging the widening skills gap in the sector. The Agency through its academy has developed a vocational training program with newly formed curriculums. The IT Vocational training will play a central role in preparing young people for work, develop their skills, and respond to the labor-market’s needs.

Hybrid-Events are they the future of Events 
Physical events with a large number of people are raising red flags all over the world. To limit virus contagion, events with attendees over 50 are being cancelled and/or postponed, and communities are issuing fines for groups that are meeting with over 5 individuals. With widespread cancellations and postponements of large events, event organizers have been operating in crisis mode and scrambling to save their events any way they can. Now lets take a look at one event One solution has emerged that seems, for the moment at least, to be filling the gap. Virtual events have allowed planners and organizations to proceed with their planned events in a way that allows everyone to participate from the safety of their own homes.
